Hi.

I'm Heather - lifestyle photographer & homeschooling mama. We choose simple and slow. Freedom and fresh air. And I like to make things beautiful.

Let’s be friends?

The Simple Pleasure of Sharing Flowers

The Simple Pleasure of Sharing Flowers

Spring has come again. The earth is like a child who knows poems by heart.

Rainer Maria Rilke, Sonnets to Orpheus

Every year, God sends me a love note in the form of two long rows of flowers; peonies colored blush pink, deep fuchsia and creamy white. How lavish! Wanting to share the bounty, I snip them to make little arrangements for friends around town - a small way to say "I love you."

Last fall at the rummage sale I found 8 glasses rimmed in a mercurial metallic for all of $2 and have been keeping them safe in my gift closet for the day that my petals would be ready to fill them.

Under an overcast evening sky, I gathered a box of rain-washed blooms to package up, and a little ginger boy came and helped me. The last light of day lent a moody and romantic tone to the scene, reflecting itself in the puddle on the table.

It's a simple thing, these flowers, but they bring so much joy. They feed the soul.

What simple pleasures do you cling to in the Spring?

Enjoy a little set of some beautiful blooms...
